Body of woman burnt beyond recognition discovered in Nakulabye
Police has recovered a body of a woman burnt beyond recognition in Masiro zone III, Nakulabye in Lubaga division Kampala.
According to Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, the body was spotted on Saturday by pedestrians who informed the Nakulabye police.
A team of detectives from Old Kampala police station together with scenes of crime officers visited the scene and carried out analysis. Onyango says they took samples of the burnt residue and sent it to government analytical laboratory for analysis.
Detectives also recorded statements from residents before conveying the body to City mortuary, Mulago for post mortem.
“The person was murdered from somewhere and the body brought to where it was found this morning at around 7:00 am. The extent of the burns on the body and the absence of one limb and foot, could suggest a ritual practice” Onyango said.
He noted that inquiries into the matter have commences and urged any one whose person is missing, to go and try identifying the body at city mortuary Mulago.
