Security bans vending of Hoes, Pangas, and Knives
Ugandans may not sell or vend raw weapons/tools like hoes, pangas, knives, and other sharp objects on the streets, the Joint Security Agencies have announced.
The ban was announced by CP Enanga Fred the police spokesperson during the weekly security press conference at Naguru Police Headquarters on Monday.
According to the police mouthpiece, the joint security agencies also issued directives to all territorial commanders to confiscate any raw tools sold on the streets because of their contribution to crime and impact on public safety and security.
“We believe the confiscation of such tools, that can easily be used as weapons, will help mitigate the risks of safety and security, in our neighborhood, on motorists and other road users,” Enanga said.
He however explained that the enforcement of the laws governing vendors is the sole responsibility of the KCCA.
Enanga, therefore, says that they will work with KCCA, to ensure and promote a healthy, safe, and secure environment on the major roads.
