Twins killed by mob for mugging residents in Katooke, Nansana Municipality, 8 suspects arrested

The police at Katooke in Nansana Municipality is investigating the murder by a mob, of twins, identified as Kakuru Hassan and Kato Sharif.

It is alleged that the duo, together with other youths carried out an operation where they mugged members of the public, stealing their phones and other properties.

This prompted the public to fight back and they managed to arrest the duo and assaulted them until they died. Another member of the group identified as Kiberu Faruk survived with serious injuries and was rushed to Mulago hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the PRO KMP, Police swung into action and arrested 8 people in connection with the murders. The suspects are being held at Katooke Police station.

He urged members of the public to avoid carrying laws into their hands, but rather take such people to police. Owoyesigyire further called upon parents to remain vigilant and inform police in case their children are engaged in illegal activities.

Police recovered 3 stolen phones and handed them back to the owners.
