Horror as 70 year old woman is murdered and private parts cut off

Police in Rubanda District are searching for assailants who murdered a 70-year-old woman and took off with her private parts.

 The deceased has been identified as Rosemary Bagumirenda, resident of Kihengamo village Mpungu parish Hamurwa s/c Rubanda district.

Her body was discovered on Saturday 01/05/2021 at around 07:00hrs at Nyakanengo village Ruhonwa parish.

Elly Maate the police Spokesperson for Kigezi region says that the deceased allegedly left her home in the morning hours of Friday, going for burial in Nyakanengo village.

Later that same evening, she was seen at Nyakanengo trading centre. However, residents were shocked when she was found murdered in the swamp near the well in the morning of the next day, and her private parts missing.

Maate says Police visited the scene, post mortem done and the hunt for the unknown assailants is ongoing.
