Speaker Jacob Oulanya mourns, praises Gen Saleh’s wife
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has mourned the death of Ms Harriet Aber, the wife of Gen Salim Saleh as a great talent and shining star dimmed so soon.
Oulanya was representing at Aber’s funeral in Gulu on Saturday, where he described the mother of three, as an example of a gift of talent put to good use, robust and steadfast in her advocacy for the rights of the less fortunate in society.
“The death of such a Ugandan in her prime, has denied the country the opportunity to fully utilize her energy, diligence and hard work in the country’s transformation agenda” Oulanya noted.
Ms Aber, a lawyer, succumbed to intestinal ulcers according to a joint autopsy report conducted by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) and Uganda Police pathologists.
She is survived by triplets, aged 10.
Meanwhile, her husband Gen Saleh said he has lost an intelligent and reliable partner, a mother of his children and an advocate for land rights.
Oulanyah also made a contribution of Shs 2 million towards burial expenses.
