33 year old woman jumps off 6th floor at Kawempe Hospital, dies instantly

Police at Kawempe are investigating circumstances under which a one Alice Babirye, 33, a resident of Wakiso Township jumped from a hospital window to death.

It is alleged that today July 9, 2021 at around 9am, at Kawempe Referral Hospital located in Kawempe Division, Babirye who was a patient at the Hospital jumped from the window on the 6th floor of the building to the ground.

She died instantly upon impact.

Asp Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO KMP says Police was informed about the incident and officers responded at the scene.

“Her body was found and examined by scene of crime officers. It was picked and conveyed to the Kampala Capital City Authority mortuary at Mulago for a postmortem” Owoyesigyire says.

Detectives took statements from all nurses and administrators, who were on duty before and after the incident happened.

Investigations are still ongoing.
