30 year old man on the run after stabbing Grand father to death

Police in Rukungiri are hunting for a 30-year-old man identified as Kamwesigye Jackson alias boy, for stabbing his grand father to death. The deceased is Barugahare Bernard a 74-year-old resident of Kanyankyende village, Bugangari sub county, Rukungiri district.

The incident happened in the night of 17/4/2021 at around 21:00hrs at his home, when the grandson Kamwesigye attacked and stabbed Barugahare.

Trouble emanated from failure by the deceased to pay the killer’s wages which was demanding. Kamwesigye was a casual worker for the deceased.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson says the suspect grabbed Barugahare outside the kitchen and stabbed him in the neck to death in the presence of his 73-year-old wife one Tugumisirize Edisa.

 Edisa called their neighbours for rescue. Unfortunately, they found him already dead.

The matter was reported to police which visited the scene, exhibit of the killing weapon (knife) was recovered at the scene and the body was taken to Rwakabengo healthy center III mortuary for post mortem. 

The suspect is still on the run and inquiries at hand.
