UPDF Sergeant Found Dead in Kabale After Five Days Missing

The territorial police in Kabale District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a UPDF officer, RA/185408 Sgt Tumwesigye Robert, who was attached to the 2nd Division and deployed at the Mukokye border in Maziba Sub-county as an intelligence officer. His lifeless body was discovered on his bed at his residence in Mukokye earlier today.

According to the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, Elly Maate, the incident was reported by the area chairperson, Christopher Nkaneziyo, at Maziba Police Station.

Maate stated that a team of officers from Kabale visited and documented the scene. The body was later transferred to Kabale Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

The deceased is reported to have been missing for the past five days until his body was discovered in his house, where he lived alone.
