UNEB Urges Public to Ignore Fake Reports on PLE Results Delay
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has clarified what it termed as misleading reports suggesting a delay in the release of the 2025 Primary Leaving Assessment (PLE) results, allegedly due to a national internet shutdown on January 14, 2026.
UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule urged the public to disregard the reports, describing them as fake, baseless, and intended to cause unnecessary panic.
“The public is hereby assured that all quality assurance procedures have been effectively finalised, and the release date for the 2025 results will be announced in due course,” Kalule said.
Kalule also cautioned heads of examination centres against individuals impersonating members of the UNEB security committee and defrauding schools of money.
She explained that the fraudsters falsely claim they can help schools improve candidates’ grades or remove them from lists of those allegedly involved in examination malpractice.
“This is not true,” she emphasised.
Kalule further advised school heads and members of the public to report such cases to the police or notify UNEB through its toll-free lines 0800 31427 or 0800 211077. She added that the board will protect anyone who provides useful information under UNEB’s whistleblower policy.
