Uganda hosts the Global Symposium for Regulators 2024

Speke Resort Munyonyo hosted theGlobal Symposium for Regulators 2024 with so much to take home from the symposium.

The four-day event featured thematic sessions bringing together regulators, policymakers and digital stakeholders from around the world and providing a global platform for knowledge exchange around the topic “Regulation for impact”.

Among the areas looked at included Regional Regulatory Associations and Digital Regulation Network (DRN) meeting before the Heads of the Regulators Executive Roundtable, Industry Advisory Group on Development Issues and Private Sector Chief Regulatory Officer’s (IAGDI-CRO) Meeting before the Opening ceremony with a High-Level Segment, Maximizing Digital opportunities for impact, then a Ministerial conversation and interactive regulators and digital stakeholder conversation, economy and Dialogue on tools for sustainable space, network of Women (NoW) in ITU-D interactive session, Safe and inclusive digital financial services and then AI and robotics for positive impact.

The last day of the GSR-24 concentrated on Agile regulation for innovation, harnessing digital for climate action.

Being a function for dignitaries, Fenon premium events production was trusted to foresee this event and they did quite well with the set-up, decorations, lighting and stage and sound, giving the event, the value it deserved.

Among the participants for the symposium included George William Nnyombi Thembo, Executive Director Uganda Communications Commission, Doreen Bogdan-Martin Secretary-General ITU, Chris Baromunsi Minister Ministry of ICT and National Guidance Uganda and Jessica Alupo, Vice President of Uganda

The Global Symposium for Regulators () took place in Kampala, Uganda, from 1 to 4 July 2024 in the Speke Resort and Convention Center, Munyonyo.
