Two Arrested for Wandering at Night While Armed in Wandegeya

Police in Wandegeya have arrested two suspects in connection with the offence of wandering at night while armed with dangerous weapons.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Kampala Metropolitan Police, the suspects have been identified as Omirambe Nizara (18) and Ochom Daniel (23), both residents of Kawempe Division in Kampala District.

Owoyesigyire said the arrest occurred in the early hours of 18th March 2026 at around 12:23 a.m. during a routine patrol by officers from Kikoni B Police Station near Nyumbani Hotel. The officers encountered a group of about six youths who fled on seeing the police, but two suspects were apprehended.

Upon searching the suspects, police recovered a panga and a knife concealed on Omirambe Nizara.

The suspects are currently in custody at Wandegeya Police Division. The case file has been prepared and is pending submission to the Resident State Attorney for legal advice.
