Two Arrested for Robbing Congolese National of USD25,000 in Kampala
Officers at CPS Kampala have arrested two suspects, Kalema Samuel and Mwima Asumani, for allegedly robbing Justin Katungo, a Congolese resident of Makindye, of $25,000 and a small bag.
According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the PRO Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred on 10 March 2025, at the Senana supermarket junction on Buganda Road, where the robbers, backed by five motorcycles, pursued Katungo on foot and kicked her before fleeing towards Wandegeya via Buganda Road.
Kalema Samuel, 21, a Boda Boda rider from Kawempe, and Mwima Asumani, 26, a Boda Boda rider from Kasangati, were arrested in Kyanja using available technology.
Onyango states that the duo is currently detained at CPS Kampala on charges of aggravated robbery and has confessed to the crime.
Exhibits were also recovered from them, and they are expected to appear in court next week.
