Thug killed by mob in Kabuusu

Police in Kampala are hunting for a group of unknown thugs who attacked the residents of Kabuusu in Lubaga division and smashed windows of people’s houses. The incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at around 4:00am.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson says residents made an alarm prompting them to all wake up and chase the thigs. One of the thugs was arrested but residents took it upon themselves to punish him by death.
“They beat him until he died. He had no identification with him, he was only found with a torch, while the other thugs run away” Onyango says.
Police officers visited the scene, recorded statements from witnesses and are now searching for the thugs who managed to escape.
The deceased’s body was also conveyed to city mortuary as investigations continue.
Onyango called upon members of the public to avoid taking the law into their hands and always hand over such suspects to police
“When you kill the suspect, you are killing the evidence and making others to go free without facing the law” Onyango noted.
