Three Killed in Early Morning Crash at Impala Interchange on Entebbe Expressway

Three people have been confirmed dead following a fatal crash that occurred on Monday morning, 16th March 2026, at around 6:30 a.m. at the Impala Interchange along the Entebbe Expressway.

According to SP Michael Kananura, the PRO/CLO of the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, the crash involved motor vehicle registration number UBG 734S, a Toyota Land Cruiser.

The driver, identified as Ssenyonjo Bosco, a businessman and resident of Masaka, was reportedly travelling with his family toward the Entebbe side when he lost control of the vehicle due to speeding on the expressway.

The vehicle first hit the base of a streetlight pole before crashing into a road pillar and overturning several times.

As a result of the crash, three occupants, including the driver, died instantly, while two others sustained severe injuries.

Kananura said a team of Traffic Police responded swiftly to the scene, rescued the injured victims, and rushed them to Grade B Hospital for first aid before referring them to another medical facility for further treatment.

The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to the City Mortuary for postmortem examinations as investigations into the crash continue.
