Three Dead, 13 Injured in Nakaseke Road Crash
Police in Nakaseke are investigating the cause of a head-on collision that occurred on Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, resulting in the death of three people.
The accident happened at about 8:00 a.m. along the Luwero–Butalangu Road in Kasana.
According to ASP Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Region Police Public Relations Officer, the accident involved a white Toyota Hiace (registration number UA 746CH) travelling from Ngoma towards Luwero via Kasana in Kiwoko Town Council. The vehicle collided head-on with a white Tata (registration number UBJ 081B) that was heading from Kiwoko towards Butalangu. Both drivers have not yet been identified.
The deceased have been identified as Joy Kusigwire, 22, a passenger in vehicle UA 746CH and a resident of Kyabiguuru; Nuwenyine Nathan, also a passenger in UA 746CH and a resident of Kyabiguuru; and Kingogo Martin, 43, a passenger in vehicle UBJ 081B.
Thirteen other victims sustained injuries, including nine men, two women, and two girl children. Their identities have not yet been established.
All the injured victims were admitted to Kiwoko Hospital for treatment, while the three bodies were taken to Nakaseke Hospital for postmortem examination.
Police from the Nakaseke Traffic Department visited the scene, documented the incident, and commenced investigations to establish the cause of the accident and identify the drivers.
ASP Twiineamazima urged road users to exercise caution on this stretch of road, adhere to speed limits, and avoid reckless driving.
