Suspect Arrested After Sniffer Dog Tracks Stolen Motorcycle in Nebbi

The Police in Nebbi District are holding Munguryek Morgan in custody on allegations of stealing a motorcycle belonging to Jakisa Emmy Saviour.

Preliminary investigations indicate that on the morning of 26th January 2026, Jakisa Emmy Saviour woke up and discovered that his motorcycle had been stolen from where it was parked. He immediately reported the matter to the police under SD Reference 15/27/01/2026 and requested the deployment of a police sniffer dog.

A police sniffer dog, T/P 237 Pablo, was introduced to the scent bed, where it successfully picked up a human scent believed to have been left by the suspect.

The dog tracked the scent for approximately 80 metres, leading officers to a spot where a motorcycle handle had been abandoned. The tracking continued and eventually led the team to a nearby home.

The dog rotated briefly before proceeding straight to a pit latrine, where Munguryek Morgan was found hiding. He was immediately arrested and escorted to Nebbi Police Station to assist with further investigations.

The motorcycle handle was recovered and has been secured as an exhibit. Investigations are ongoing.
