Singer Weasel Injured in Alleged Hit-and-Run by Partner Sandra Teta

Police at Kabalagala are holding Sandra Teta over allegations of unlawful wounding following a midnight incident involving her partner musician Douglas Mayanja, popularly known as Weasel.

According to preliminary police reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 7, 2025, outside Shans Bar in Munyonyo. It is alleged that following a heated altercation between the two, Sandra Teta deliberately drove a vehicle Reg.No. UBH 148Y, and knocked down Weasel. The vehicle has since been impounded and is being held at Kabalagala Police Station.

Weasel was initially rushed to Mukwaya Hospital before being transferred to St. Francis Hospital Nsambya, where he is currently admitted and receiving treatment. His current medical condition has not been disclosed.

Police say investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

“We have opened a case of unlawful wounding and are currently holding Sandra Teta as inquiries continue,” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy PRO for Kampala Metropolitan Police. “Further details will be shared in due course.”
