Senior Police Officer Found Dead in Najjanankumbi Home
Detectives from the Uganda Police Force are investigating the death of Superintendent of Police (SP) Musa Walugembe, 45, who was found dead in his home in Najjanankumbi, Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, police received information about the incident on September 3, 2025, at around 12:09 a.m. and immediately responded. Walugembe, who lived alone, had locked himself inside the house, and officers had to break the door to gain access.
Statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, and the scene was examined. The body was taken to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death. Preliminary findings revealed no visible injuries or abrasions. Neighbors reported that Walugembe had recently complained of chest pain. He was last seen alive on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
The Uganda Police Force has extended its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late officer, asking them to find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
