Security Guard Shot Dead by Colleague in Kiboga

Police in Kiboga are investigating a tragic incident in which a security guard was shot dead by his colleague while on duty at a bank in Kiboga Town Council.

According to the Wamala Regional Police spokesperson, SP Racheal Kawala, the shooting occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 2, 2025, at about 1:00 a.m.

The deceased has been identified as Engoromoit Moses, 39, a guard with Ultimate Security Services, who was deployed to protect the Brac Bank branch in Bamusuuta, Kiboga Town Council.

Preliminary findings indicate that Engoromoit and his colleague, Karuhanga Moses, who is the prime suspect, were both on duty when a disagreement broke out between them. During the altercation, Karuhanga allegedly opened fire, shooting Engoromoit in the head and killing him instantly.

The suspect then reportedly informed their supervisor, who rushed to the scene and found Engoromoit’s body lying in a pool of blood. Police were later notified about the incident.

“A case of murder by shooting has been registered. The scene of crime has been examined and documented, and statements have been recorded from key witnesses,” SP Kawala said.

Investigations so far reveal that while the deceased was armed with a baton, the suspect was carrying a firearm. After the shooting, Karuhanga abandoned the gun at the scene and fled.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, with SP Kawala assuring the public that efforts are underway to apprehend him and ensure he faces justice.

The body of the deceased has been taken for postmortem examination as inquiries continue.
