Rubanda Police Investigate the Mysterious Death of a Bicycle Mechanic

The territorial police of Rubanda are investigating the suspicious death of a 39-year-old man identified as Hamed Kacunda, a resident of Rukore cell Muyanje ward Bubare town council in Rubanda district.

According to reports, the deceased left his home on the morning of 25/4/2023 at around 0930hrs, to go to Bugongi trading center in Kabale municipality, where he repairs bicycles. He was reportedly seen alive at around 8 p.m. at a bar in Bugongi, where he gave his wife money to buy supper.

However, his wife, who had returned home, waited for him in vain. The next day, on 26/04/2023, she received information that her husband’s lifeless body was found lying by the roadside at Kaziniro trading center, Muyanje ward.

The wife reported the incident to the police, who visited the scene with a team of officers. Upon arrival, they found the body with deep cut wounds on the head and a broken leg. A postmortem was conducted by Police Surgeon SP Odulusi in the presence of OC CID Rubanda D/ASP Aine Bernice.

Elly Maate the police PRO Kigezi region says they have launched an investigation into the matter, and no suspects have been arrested yet.
