President Museveni to attend C-10 Summit in Equatorial Guinea

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has confirmed his participation in this year’s C-10 summit, scheduled to be held in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea on November 23, 2023.

“I will certainly attend the summit,” President Museveni affirmed. His decision came following an official invitation extended by his Equatorial Guinea counterpart, H.E Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. The invitation was personally delivered by Mr. Simeón Oyono Esono Angue, Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Diaspora, during a meeting at State House Entebbe.

President Museveni is a member of the African Union Committee of the Ten (10), tasked with reforming the United Nations (UN) Security Council.

Minister Esono expressed his deep appreciation for President Museveni’s presence at the summit, emphasizing that the President’s involvement is not only significant as a C-10 member but also as an influential leader whose insights are highly anticipated. He stated, “We are eagerly looking forward to your participation in the summit. As a true advocate of Pan-Africanism, we are eager to gain valuable insights from your wisdom.”

The Committee of Ten (C-10) comprises the following countries: Algeria, Libya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Uganda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Namibia, and Zambia.
