The Electoral Commission (EC) extended its appreciation to all stakeholders for adhering to the electoral rules and regulations, particularly the candidates who were directly involved in the 2026 elections.

For upcoming elections at various polling stations across the country, the EC reminded the public to participate peacefully and uphold the integrity of the process.

While giving his closing remarks at the National Tally Centre, EC Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama thanked citizens for turning out in large numbers to vote, observe, and witness this important milestone in Uganda’s democratic process.

He urged everyone to return to their daily activities in peace, harmony, and mutual understanding, emphasizing the importance of the well-being of both individuals and the nation.

Justice Byabakama also noted that anyone dissatisfied with the declared results has the right to seek legal redress in court.

However, presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine), who secured the second position, declined to collect his declaration form, alleging that the election results were neither transparent nor accurate.
