Police urge public to strictly adhere to presidential directives on curfew
The Joint Security Agencies have issued a warning urging members of the public strictly adhere to the health and safety protocols put in place by government.
CP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson says Uganda is not yet at a Zero COVID-19 level, and the security agencies’ focus remains enforcement of the partial lockdown and curfew.
Enanga says they are going to ensure all private and public motor vehicles are operating at the recommended capacity of 3 persons for private cars, two persons for cargo, and for public transport with effect from today’s 2.08.2021, at 50% operating capacity.
“Bodabodas to strictly carry one passengers from 5:30am – 6pm. Any motorists, drivers and passengers working, outside these controlled provisions, will have their movements disrupted and suctions of fines, penalties and punishments taken against them” Enanga noted.
On Friday, President Museveni re-opened the transport sector with strict guidelines, including a 6PM curfew for boda bodas/motorcycles and 7PM for cars.
