Police pursue suspect in alleged Defilement of 4-year-old niece
Authorities in Mitooma are pursuing a 20-year-old man identified as Tukwataniise Victor, a resident of Ngomba 2 Village, Kirembe Parish, Katenga subcounty in Mitooma District, for allegedly defiling his 4-year-old niece. The victim’s identity is being withheld due to her status as a juvenile.
The incident allegedly occurred on December 5, 2023, in a coffee plantation near the victim’s father’s house. The child’s father, Tusingwire Frank, brought her to his home in the neighborhood around 7:00 pm that evening. However, he later left the child at her grandparents’ home and returned to his house alone.
Upon her return, the victim informed her mother, Kyarisima Rose, that she had been defiled by her paternal uncle, Tukwataniise Victor. Kyarisima immediately checked and discovered signs of trauma, before rushing the child to Mitooma Health Centre IV for medical examination. The victim is currently admitted for further evaluation.
Kyarisiima reported the incident to the police on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Officers from Mitooma Police Station responded by registering a case of aggravated defilement.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Public Relations Officer for Greater Bushenyi, confirmed that relevant statements have been recorded, a Pf3A issued, and the examination report retrieved from the health centre.
Unfortunately, the suspect is currently on the run, evading authorities, and an active manhunt is underway to have him arrested.
