Police Probe Mob Justice Incident in Nansana
The Police at Kawempe Division are investigating a case of mob justice that occurred on October 28, 2025, at around 4:30 a.m. in Kazo Central Zone II, Nansana Division, Wakiso District.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy PRO KMP, it is alleged that Achem Ahamed, 28, a private security guard attached to a building housing Hajji Supermarket, noticed a man suspected of breaking into one of the shops.
When the guard confronted him, the suspect reportedly resisted arrest and stabbed Achem twice on the head, leaving him seriously injured.
The guard’s alarm attracted members of the community, who responded, arrested the suspect, and later assaulted him to death before the Police could arrive.
The deceased, identified only as Julius, aged 30 years, was later conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Scene of crime officers from Kawempe Division visited the scene, recorded witness statements, and retrieved exhibits to support ongoing investigations.
Police have condemned the act of mob justice, urging members of the public to always hand over suspects to the nearest police authorities for appropriate legal action.
