Police Probe Examination Malpractice at Nakasongola CU Primary School
The Police in Nakasongola District have launched investigations into a suspected case of examination malpractice at Nakasongola Church of Uganda (CU) Primary School in Nakasongola Town Council.
According to the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson, ASP Sam Twiineamazima, the incident occurred on Monday, November 3, 2025, at around 12:40 p.m., when Nakasongola Police received a report alleging that an examination envelope had been tampered with before the start of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
Upon arrival at the school, the examination monitor and police officers inspected the materials and confirmed that the envelope showed signs of having been opened unauthorisedly. The chief invigilator reportedly received the envelope from the distributor but failed to conduct a proper check before the examination began.
Police have since registered a case of examination malpractice and commenced investigations. The scene was visited by the District Criminal Investigations Officer, the Officer in Charge of the station, and the CID support team, who collected exhibits as evidence.
ASP Twiineamazima said suspects, including the examination distributor, chief invigilator, and other invigilators, have not yet been identified but have been summoned to provide statements through the District Inspector of Schools.
He urged anyone with additional information to come forward, emphasising that the integrity of the national examination process remains a top priority for both the police and the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
