Police Nab 27 in Joint Night Operation in Kira Division

Police have arrested 27 suspects on charges of possession of suspected narcotic substances.

The arrests were made on 12th February 2026 at around 8:00pm during a joint security operation conducted in Bulindo Katuli Zone and Buwate Ghetto under Kira Police Division.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the operation was aimed at enhancing security in the area following an increase in crime, particularly in locations frequented by individuals suspected of involvement in drug-related activities.

The suspects are currently detained pending screening and processing of their files for possible prosecution. Exhibits of suspected narcotic substances were recovered during the operation.

Police described the operation as successful and indicated that similar operations will continue to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for the public.
