Police Investigate Mysterious Death of Woman in Kibuku
Police in Kibuku District are investigating the circumstances under which a 35-year-old woman, identified as Lubanga Zabina, a resident of Kamolokini Village, Kamolokini Parish, died under unclear circumstances.
According to ASP Kyempasa Wilfred, the PRO – Bukedi North, the incident was brought to the attention of the authorities by Were Patrick, 70, the Local Council I Chairperson of Kamolokini Village.
It is alleged that during the early hours of October 29, 2025, at around 3:00 a.m., the deceased was at home with her husband, Nakudo Shaban, when she reportedly fell off the bed and became unconscious.
Her husband is said to have rushed to the LC1 Chairperson to seek help in transporting her to a nearby clinic for treatment. However, upon their return, they found that Zabina had already died.
The LC1 Chairperson immediately notified the area police, who responded to the scene. However, upon their arrival, the deceased’s husband had fled.
A team of police officers from Kibuku Central Police Station, including the Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), visited the scene, documented evidence, and conveyed the body of the deceased to Mbale City Mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Kyempasa told reporters that statements have been recorded from the reporter and several neighbours as investigations continue.
