Police Investigate Aggravated Robbery in Budaka District
Police in Budaka District are investigating a case of aggravated robbery that occurred in Kamonkoli Town Council on the night of October 16, 2025, in which armed thugs broke into a home and made off with cash and several valuable items.
The incident, recorded under reference number KML CRB 90/2025, was reported by Nsigo Masttula Nankya, a 44-year-old headteacher of Nakaloke Secondary School and resident of Nyanza A Cell, Kamonkoli Town Council.
According to police reports, four unidentified men armed with pangas and an axe attacked Nankya’s residence at around midnight. The assailants, who were dressed in civilian clothes, allegedly used an axe to break her window before gaining access to the bedroom, where they robbed her of UGX 350,000 in cash, two gold watches, one laptop, two laptop bags, and four mobile phones.
Police officers led by ASP Kamurari, the Officer in Charge of Budaka Police Station, visited and documented the scene, accompanied by D/AIP Watsala Willy and D/AIP Kwiri, a Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO). Statements were obtained from relevant witnesses to aid ongoing investigations.
The Budaka District Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Kyempasa Wilfred, confirmed the incident and said no arrests have been made yet, but investigations are underway to track down the suspects.
“We have registered a case of aggravated robbery and are actively pursuing leads to identify and arrest the perpetrators. Inquiries are still ongoing,” ASP Kyempasa stated.
Police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest security authorities to help curb rising cases of violent crime in the area.
