Police Investigate Aggravated Defilement of Eight-Year-Old Boy in Buikwe

Lugazi Police in Buikwe district have launched an investigation into an aggravated defilement case that occurred in Bunyangira village on 2nd April 2023. The victim is an 8-year-old P3 pupil of Bibo Church of Uganda Primary School and a resident of the village.

According to the victim’s father, Makanga Joseph, 33 years old, he reported to Lugazi Police station that his son had been sodomized by Nambale Allan, a 19-year-old senior 4 student of Namataba Secondary School. During the interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime but claimed that spirits had possessed him to do it.

Hellen Butoto the Police Spokesperson Ssezibwa Region says that they are currently conducting inquiries to establish more facts surrounding the lifestyle of the accused person. The victim has been taken to a medical facility for a check-up and necessary medical attention.

Defilement is a serious crime in Uganda and perpetrators face severe punishment under the law. The police have urged parents and guardians to be vigilant and take an active role in protecting their children.

Parents and guardians have been advised to teach their children about their rights and personal safety to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
