Police in Kaliro arrest teacher for defiling 15 year old pupil

The Police in Kaliro have arrested Mukabire Grace, a 35-year-old teacher, on charges of allegedly defiling a 15-year-old pupil. The accused is a resident of Buyunga zone, Kaliro town council, Kaliro District, while the victim is a student at Kaliro Church of Uganda Primary School and resident of Nakiyanja zone, Kaliro town council, Kaliro District.

According to reports, during the second term of the academic year 2023 at Kaliro Church of Uganda Primary School, the suspect initiated an illicit sexual affair with the victim, who was his primary six pupil. The unauthorized relationship reportedly took place at the teacher’s residence, leading to their apprehension this week.

ASP Kasadha Micheal, the spokesperson for Busoga North police region, stated that preliminary information suggests the victim went missing from her parents’ home on 6/1/2024, only to be discovered on 08/01/2024 at the suspect’s residence, watching a movie.

The suspect is currently in custody at Kaliro CPS, pending further investigations under KLR CRB 010/2024.
