Police Hunt for Woman Who Allegedly Stole Baby from Pastor Ssenyonga’s Church

Police at Wandegeya are searching for a woman identified only as Shanita, who is suspected of abducting a two-month-old baby from Tumusiime Grace at Christian Life Church in Makerere Kavule.

The incident occurred on July 23, 2025, during a prayer session. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, Tumusiime had briefly placed her baby on the floor when Shanita allegedly took the child.

Reports indicate that the two women had first met during a previous church prayer meeting on Monday. When Tumusiime asked Shanita to return the child, she initially admitted to having the baby but later denied any involvement. The matter was reported to police around 7:20 p.m.

SSP Onyango confirmed that investigations are underway to trace the suspect and recover the missing child.

“We urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation. If you know the whereabouts of the suspect or the child, please contact Wandegeya Police Station,” he said.
