Police Arrest Suspect in Kasangati Murder Case

Police in Matugga are holding a suspect in connection with the alleged murder of Kiyingi Vincent, a 30-year-old resident of Kiti B Cell in Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso District.

The incident is reported to have occurred in the early hours of March 23, 2026, at around 1:00 a.m. in the same area.

According to SP Racheal Kawala, the Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the suspect has been identified as Masaba John. He was previously in a relationship with Nanfuka Joan, who later separated from him and reportedly began a relationship with the deceased.

Preliminary investigations indicate that at about 1:00 a.m., the suspect allegedly went to Nanfuka’s rented residence in Kiti B Cell, where the deceased was spending the night.

It is alleged that when the suspect knocked, the deceased opened the door, triggering a confrontation between the two. The altercation reportedly escalated into a physical fight, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased with a knife.

The suspect remains in police custody as investigations into the incident continue.
