One Killed in Nansana Tragic Accident
One person lost his life, while one other was injured in an accident that occurred on Thursday October 10, 2024 at 7:10 PM, in Katooke B, Nansana Municipality.
The accident involved two motor vehicles: a white Fuso box body registration number UAT 905Y loaded with charcoal and a silver Platz registration number UAL 192D.
The deceased has been identified as Watiti Junior Kenneth, 38, lecturer at International University of East Africa, a resident of Wamala Zone, Nabweru Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District.
The injured person is Kobuhwezi Peace, 40, a businesswoman, and resident of Katooke B Cell.
According to Patrick Onyango, the PRO Kampala Metropolitan Police, preliminary investigations suggest that the Fuso truck, carrying 120 bags of charcoal from Apac District to Katooke, experienced brake failure while traveling from Jinja Kalori. The vehicle overturned, resulting in the fatal accident.
The charcoal belonged to Nakiryowa Rehema, 49, resident of Nabweru.
The deceased’s body was conveyed to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem.
