One Dead, Two Injured in Mityana Road Accident

Police in Mityana are investigating a road accident that claimed the life of one person and left two others injured.

The incident occurred on 26th August 2025 at around 2:00 PM at Mumsa along the Mubende–Kampala road in Mityana Municipality, Mityana District.

According to SP Racheal Kawala, the PRO for Wamala Region, the accident involved a black Toyota Noah, registration UA 010AR, and a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration UDP 918K.

The deceased has been identified as Nsubuga Joseph Mary, a 55-year-old teacher and LC.3 chairman of Myanzi Sub-county, resident of Myanzi Village in Kasanda District.

The injured, both teachers at Good Mummy Primary School in Bukuya, are Nabukalu Rose, 25, and Namigade Florence, 27, residents of Bukuya Town Council in Kasanda District.

Preliminary reports indicate that Nsubuga was riding the Bajaj Boxer motorcycle from Mubende toward Kampala. Upon reaching Mumsa, he allegedly made an abrupt U-turn, at which point the Toyota Noah, traveling in the same direction, collided with him, killing him instantly.

The Toyota reportedly lost control following the collision, veered off the road, and overturned, injuring the two passengers.

Police have documented and examined the scene. The body of the deceased has been taken to Mityana General Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination, while the injured were rushed to Kambo Medical Centre in Naama for treatment.

Both vehicles involved have been towed to Mityana Police Station pending inspection. Investigations are ongoing.
