New Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Electric Launched in Uganda

After the launch of the brand-new Corolla Cross Hybrid in the Ugandan market on January 25th, 2024, CFAO Mobility is expanding its hybrid lineup with the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Electric. This strategic move aims to reinforce Toyota’s commitment to eco-friendly vehicles in Uganda.

Leveraging the success and awareness generated by the Corolla Cross Hybrid campaign, the introduction of the RAV4 Hybrid will not only offer consumers more options but also further educate and promote hybrid technology in the market. The planned introduction of more hybrid vehicles demonstrates a comprehensive approach to sustainable mobility.

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Electric is a crossover SUV designed to stimulate your mind and curiosity as you enter a whole new realm of crossover-SUV driving. Expect nothing less than incredible. It’s time to live a life less ordinary and more extraordinary, where incredible becomes standard.

Speed

The vehicle has a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour. While this speed is not often utilized in everyday driving, it indicates the vehicle’s capability for high-speed travel and overall engine performance.

Engine

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is powered by an A25A-FXS engine from Toyota’s Dynamic Force Engine series, known for efficiency, performance, and reduced emissions. The engine has a displacement of 2.5 liters, balancing fuel efficiency with adequate power. It uses petrol, known for smoother and quieter operation compared to diesel engines, and employs a fuel injection system for precise control over the air-fuel mixture, improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and enhancing performance.

The engine features a 16-valve dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) configuration with Variable Valve Timing-intelligent by Electric motor (VVT-iE) on the intake side and Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) on the exhaust side. This advanced mechanism optimizes engine performance by adjusting valve timing, enhancing power output, fuel efficiency, and emissions control. It produces a maximum output of 131 kilowatts (approximately 176 horsepower) at 5700 rpm, ensuring ample power for acceleration and high-speed maintenance, and generates a maximum torque of 221 Newton-meters between 3600 and 5200 rpm for smooth and responsive performance.

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid features a 7-inch multimedia touch screen, providing a user-friendly interface for entertainment and navigation features. The vehicle is equipped with a high-quality audio system, including six speakers for a rich audio experience, supporting various media formats including AM/FM radio, MP3, USB, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Sensors

The reverse camera and parking sensors assist the driver in parking and reversing by providing visual and audio cues, enhancing safety by reducing the risk of collisions.

The front seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts with pretensioners and force limiters, reducing slack and minimizing injury during a collision. The rear seats also feature 3-point seat belts with pretensioners, ensuring all passengers are securely fastened.
