Naggalama Police Arrest Suspect in Brutal Killing of 90-Year-Old Woman
Detectives from Naggalama Police Division have arrested a 25-year-old man for the alleged murder of a 90-year-old resident of Magonga Village, Kiwafu Parish, Kimenyedde Sub-county in Mukono District.
The suspect, identified as Onyango Henry, a peasant from the same village, is accused of killing Negesa Christine on the morning of September 20, 2025, at around 9:00 a.m.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the suspect was reportedly seen leaving the deceased’s house shortly before relatives discovered Negesa lying in a pool of blood with deep head wounds. They immediately alerted authorities, who rushed to the scene.
During crime scene reconstruction, Onyango Henry allegedly led investigators to the suspected murder weapon, a blood-stained panga, along with his shoe, which had fallen off as he attempted to flee. Police further revealed that the suspect showed them a nearby well where he claimed to have washed the weapon after the crime.
Negesa’s body was transported to Kayunga Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
The police spokesperson told reporters that inquiries are ongoing to establish the motive behind the killing and whether the suspect acted alone or with accomplices.
