Meet Elie Ndisanze: The Social Entrepreneur Who Developed an App for Rwandese Children with Autism
Elie Ndisanze is a Rwandese social entrepreneur making waves in autism support with his innovative app, “AutiAssist.” This app is set to transform the management of autism by providing essential tools and resources tailored to the needs of children and their families in Rwanda.
Ndisanze’s educational journey began at Gisozi Primary School, continued at Lycee de Ruhengeri Secondary School, and culminated at Kigali Independent University (ULK), where he refined his skills and began his journey of personal and professional growth.
Beyond autism support, Ndisanze is the founder of the “Show Me Your Talent” contest, a notable initiative aimed at discovering and nurturing young musical talent in Rwanda. This contest, aired on Rwanda Television (RTV), has given aspiring musicians a platform to showcase their talents and grow as artists.
The AutiAssist app features interactive learning modules and a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), designed to help non-verbal children express their needs. It also includes a helpline for parents and caregivers to connect with professionals for expert advice and support.
These features enhance communication and education for autistic children, addressing a vital need in Rwanda. Ndisanze’s work represents a blend of technological innovation and community-focused solutions, showing how one individual’s efforts can drive meaningful change.
