Police in Natete are investigating a case of attempted murder that occurred in Busega, Rubaga Division, on January 6, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m.
SP Kawala Racheal, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, identified the victim as a 29-year-old resident of Busega Parish and a salesman/marketer with Double Q Sinotruk.
It is alleged that on the stated date and time, the victim was stabbed by his wife, identified as Joy, sustaining multiple deep cuts and serious head injuries.
Upon learning of the incident, the landlord immediately reported the matter to police, while a friend rushed the victim to Rubaga Hospital for medical attention.
Police officers promptly responded to the scene.
According to SP Kawala, preliminary examination of the house revealed suspected bloodstains on the floor, walls, and clothing, as well as a panga.
Preliminary findings indicate that the couple has been together for two years and has a nine-month-old baby, whom the wife reportedly abandoned with the father on January 1, 2026.
Efforts are ongoing to trace, arrest, and bring the suspect to book.
The police spokesperson reminded the public that men suffer equally from domestic violence, just as women do. She encouraged all victims of domestic violence to speak out and seek help, and to utilise the Child and Family Protection Units available at all police stations.
