Man beats wife to death in Oyam District

The territorial police in Oyam District have in custody Omara Thomas a resident of Barromo village, Ajul parish, Aleka Sub-County, for allegedly killing his wife.

It is alleged that on the 3rd Dec 2022 at around 2200 hours while at Barromo village, Omara picked up a quarrel with his wife Atim Collins 26 yrs old over domestic issues.

SP Patrick Jimmy Okema PRO-North Kyoga says the quarrel turned into a fight and Omara ended up beating Atim to death.

A report was made to the area LCI chairman Okullu Jonan who immediately mobilized his committee members and they arrested Omara who was then handed over to the police at Aleka police station where is being held.

A team of detectives visited the scene of the crime and the body of the deceased was conveyed to Anyeke Health center IV for postmortem.

Omara will be charged with murder.

We encourage others areas to learn from Mr Okullu than taking the law into our hands,” says Okema.
