Police in Huruma, Nairobi, have arrested a man for the alleged murder of his wife. On January 21, 2025, at about 5:00 a.m., officers on patrol within the Kelly Towers area apprehended a suspect carrying a bag. Upon conducting a search, they discovered the bag contained human body parts.
The suspect, identified as John Kiama Wambua, 29, confessed that the body parts belonged to his deceased wife, Joy Fridah Munani, 19. He subsequently led officers to his house, where more dismembered body parts were recovered from under the bed.
Also recovered from the crime scene were a blood-stained kitchen knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, and female clothing believed to belong to the deceased. The floor of the house was heavily stained with blood.
The body parts have been moved to City Mortuary for postmortem analysis. The motive for the murder is yet to be established, but the suspect is currently in police custody. The case is pending before the court under reference number CR 126/12/2025, with DCI Starehe handling the investigation.
