Man Arrested for Beheading Security Guard at a Church in Kansanga

The Police at Kabalagala Division have arrested the suspect behind the brutal murder of a security guard in Kansanga.

The deceased, identified as Epodoi Moses, aged 32, was attached to Corporate Security Limited and was on duty at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansanga, where he was found dead on 29th October 2025.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO Kampala Metropolitan Police, preliminary police findings indicate that Epodoi was attacked and beheaded by a suspect who is reportedly known to some members of the church.

A team of police officers visited and processed the crime scene, recovering several exhibits that have since been submitted for forensic analysis.

Following an intelligence-led operation on 30th October 2025, the police arrested the prime suspect, Alimu Caleb, at Ggaba Landing Site. The suspect has confessed to the crime and is cooperating with investigators by guiding them to where he hid the victim’s head and the knife used in the murder.

The body of the deceased was taken to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination as investigations continue to determine the motive behind the killing.

Police have commended members of the public for their cooperation and called for continued vigilance and timely reporting of suspicious activities to enhance community safety.
