Kassanda Police hunt for unidentified woman over child abduction
The Police in Kassanda are hunting for an unknown woman who stole a 01-month old baby. The incident took place on October 16, 2023, at 5:00 PM.
The victim, Nantadde Shivan, is a 01 month-old female infant.
According to SP Racheal Kawala the PRO Wamala Region, preliminary findings reveal that on 16/10/2023, Kyarimpa Peace, a 25-year-old resident of Buyonga zone in Kiganda town council, Kassanda district, took her baby to Kiganda Health Centre IV for immunization. During her visit, she entrusted her baby to a woman she recognized by face, requesting assistance while she went to buy food.
However, when she returned, Kyarimpa realized that the woman and her baby had vanished. She searched the health facility premises but to no avail. She reported the disappearance to the health facility management, who contacted the police.
Kawala says that the crime scene has been thoroughly examined, and relevant statements have been recorded to aid in the ongoing investigation. Police is engaged in efforts to recover the baby and arrest the suspect.
“We urge parents to exercise utmost caution and refrain from leaving their children in the care of strangers.
