Kanungu Radio Manager wanted for Assaulting Employee

Nelson Kagote Twinamatsiko 51 years, the manager of the Kanungu district-based Kanungu FM has been dragged to the police for assaulting a female presenter and News Anchor identified as Anita Tumuramye 24 years.
Tumuramye says that Twinamatsiko assaulted her when she demanded her commission on an advert of a school she brought for the radio station that belongs to Dr Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister for Information Communication Technology and National Guidance, and Kinkiizi East Constituency Member of Parliament.  
The incident happened on 26/01/2023 at around 1800hrs at the Kanungu Fm Radio station after the victim secured the school advert worth Shillings 200,000. The money was paid in cash and she was entitled to a commission of Shillings 40,000 in line with the station guidelines.

However after Tumuramye recorded the business, Twinamatsikoto declined to release her commission.

When she tried to inquire from him about her commission, he slapped her on the face and she started bleeding from the nose. She says that Twinamatsiko continued to drag her to the ground as he continued beating her.  

Tumuramye says that it was already dark when the incident occurred, but it was captured on video that has since gone viral. She ran home in fear that Twinamatsiko might follow her and reported the matter to the police the next day. 

Kanungu police station has entered a case of assault vide SD REF 23/27/01/2023. Tumuramye who was working as a cashier, receptionist, news anchor, and presenter was demoted by Twinamatsiko last year and only anchors news. 

Tumuramye was still at the police station to record a statement by press time.

ASP Maate Elly the PRO Kigezi says statements were recorded from the complainant and witness. The scene of the crime was visited and documented and investigations were carried out.

The suspect was summoned and appeared today morning (01/02/2023), his statement was recorded. He is currently detained pending court.

Maate says the case file has been completed and forwarded to RSA with a charge sheet for further management.
