Kabale police investigate sudden death of Rwandan national on Horizon bus

Police in Kabale have initiated investigations into the sudden death of 21-year-old Rwandan national James Tuyizere, who passed away on Monday while traveling in a Horizon bus from Kampala to Kisoro. The incident occurred when the bus reached Ntungamo, and Tuyizere began experiencing vomiting.

Despite efforts to address his condition by relocating him to the back seat, he succumbed to his ailment as the journey continued towards Kabale town. Passenger Hamis Magomu reported that Tuyizere seemed frail at the journey’s onset, and his condition deteriorated during the trip.

Observing his worsening state, bus conductors moved him to the back seat, where he eventually passed away as they approached Kabale town. The bus driver reported the incident to Kabale police station.

Hakim Mukama, the officer-in-charge of the Criminal Investigations Department in the Kigezi region, led the police in extracting Tuyizere’s body from the bus. The body was transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination. Following police investigations and clearance, the bus resumed its journey to Kisoro.

The police have registered the case as an incident of sudden death at Kabale police station. Investigations into the cause of James Tuyizere’s untimely death are underway
