IGP promotes 9312 subordinate officers

The Inspector General of Police has announced the promotion of 9312 subordinate officers, effective from 1st June 2023.

According to CP Polly Namaye the Deputy Spokesperson UPF, these promotions were granted based on several criteria, including seniority, record of work, acting positions, exemplary performance in operations and task execution, as well as discipline records.

The promotions are as follows:

• Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) to Inspector of Police (IP): 1145
• Head Constable Major (HCM) to Inspector (IP): 5
• Head Constable (HC) to Head Constable Major (HCM): 3
• Station Sergeant to Head Constable: 28
• Sergeant (Sgt) to Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP): 1531
• Corporal (Cpl) to Sergeant: 2644
• Police Constable to Corporal: 3956
