Horror in Mbarara as mother and daughter are brutally murdered in Nsiika Cell

The Mbarara police are investigating the brutal murder of Ainembabazi Ruth, an 18-year-old S.6 vacist, and her mother, Bashaba Frascisco, a 49-year-old peasant. The incident occurred on the night of 5/1/2024 at Nsiika cell, Ntura parish in Mbarara district.

According to reports, Bashabe, accompanied by her daughter, visited her brother in Nsiika cell. During their visit, she received a call from her husband, Musinguzi Deus, aged 55, with whom she was reportedly having strained relations. He inquired about their whereabouts.

After the visit, the duo returned to their home. However, they mysteriously disappeared, and concerns were raised by residents on the following day, 6/1/2024, prompting a check of their residence. To the shock of the community, the lifeless bodies of the victims were discovered, their heads brutally smashed with a blunt object.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, disclosed that three suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime. The suspects include the husband, Musinguzi Deus, the stepson, Ainemukama Julius (aged 25), and the co-wife, Kyohairwe Rosemary (aged 50). These individuals were the last known contacts of the victims and exhibited suspicious behavior, leading to their arrest.

Enanga strongly condemned the gruesome murder and urged spouses to cultivate mutual respect and refrain from resorting to violence. The police spokesperson noted the importance of settling disputes through legal channels rather than taking the law into one’s own hands.

Investigations into the matter continue.
