Horror in Entebbe: Couple Murdered After Returning from Diaspora
Police in Entebbe Division are investigating a case of double murder and suspected aggravated robbery at the home of Mutaaga David and his wife, Mutaaga Deborah Florence, in Lugonjo Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District.
In a statement released on Tuesday morning, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, said officers were alerted to the incident on July 6, 2025, by a household worker who reported a suspected attack.
A team of officers immediately responded to the scene and discovered the bodies of 69-year-old Mutaaga David and his 62-year-old wife, Deborah Florence.
“Preliminary examination revealed that both victims had sustained fatal stab wounds. The scene was documented, and evidence was collected before the bodies were transported to the City Mortuary at Mulago for postmortem,” ASP Owoyesigyire stated.
Police recovered several exhibits from the scene for forensic analysis.
While the motive remains under investigation, police suspect aggravated robbery and are working to identify and apprehend those responsible.
“We condemn this act in the strongest terms and wish to reassure the public that we are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice,” Owoyesigyire added.
Social media posts suggest the couple had recently returned from the diaspora after living abroad for nearly 30 years.
