Horror: Eritrean National Killed in Bar Brawl

The police in Kabalagala have two suspects in custody following the murder of an Eritrean national.

The deceased has been identified as Hannibal Tewelde, aged 30, a refugee and resident of Lukuli zone, Lukuli parish, Makindye Division.

The suspects currently detained at Kabalagala Police Station are Siem Fustem and Henok Foto, both Eritrean nationals, refugees, and residents of the same area.

According to the police, it is alleged that on the night of July 7, 2024, at an unspecified time, the deceased and the suspects were at My Place Bar, located in AD Plaza Apartment along Kibuli Road, consuming alcohol. A fight broke out among them during which the deceased was struck on the head with a beer bottle.

At around 7:30 am, the suspects rushed him to Nsambya Hospital for medical attention, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The incident was reported to Kabalagala Police Station at 8:55 am.

Police visited the scene and obtained statements from relevant witnesses. The body was transported to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

The suspects were arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
