Horror as police officer shoots self-dead in Kalangala

Residents of Buligo Village of Kalangala Town Council along Kalangala – Masaka high way are in shock after a police officer shot himself to death.

The deceased is 28-year-old Victor Twikiriza, who turned the gun on  himself in the head around 9 pm on Monday night. 

According to residents, the deceased has been part of the security detail of an official from the Ministry of Energy who had paid a visit to Kalangala.

Twikiriza is alleged to have left Green Sea Hotel quietly with his firearm in the night before shooting himself in the head.

According to Muhammad Nsubuga the Masaka Regional Spokesperson, the deceased was a resident of Kalungu District. He added that they are still trying to establish why he ended his life. 

Twikirize’s body to Kalangala Health Center IV mortuary for postmortem as investigations are ongoing.
